Ballet
RAD syllabus
Highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary and exact steps. Classical ballet includes pointe in the older grades.
Lyrical
Involves ballet & jazz technique combined with expressive movements, storytelling, and suspended energy.
Jazz
ADAPT syllabus
A fast-paced style of dance incorporating technique and style. Types of jazz vary from Broadway to jazz funk to modern jazz.
Contemporary
A sister style to lyrical, contemporary uses powerful dynamics and intriguing movements to express a wide range of emotions.
Hip Hop
A street dance style with elements of popping, locking, breaking, and street jazz. Performed to hip hop, pop, or electronic music.
Tap
ADAPT syllabus
A rhythmic and percussive type of dance characterized by the metal taps affixed to the bottom of tap shoes.
Acro
A midpoint between acrobatics and dance. Combines flexibility, tumbling, and tricks with technique and other aspects of dance.
