Dear VPD Parents and Dancers,
Welcome to our busiest 3 months of the dance season, March, April and May! We ask that you please read this newsletter in full to understand everything happening at the studio this month.
Congratulations to all dancers who completed their RAD Ballet Exams! We are so proud of all your hard work that has led to this achievement.
FACES AWARDS NOMINATION 2024:
We are honoured to announce we have been nominated for the second year in a row for Ottawa’s Best Dance School! As many of you know we did win this category for 2023 thanks to your support. We also have many of our wonderful dancers and faculty up for awards as well. Please vote for VPD and the VPD team once per day in the following categories! You can vote until March 7th, and the awards ceremony is March 8th.
Under Music & Art:
- Best Dance School: Vanessa Plettell Dance
- Best Choreographer: Vanessa Plettell-Chevrier, Kendra Brulé, Allie Fournier
- Best Dance Instructor: Casandra Bigras, Allie Fournier
- Best Dancer: Kyla Tunney
Dance Among the Stars – Competition Showcase:
Our competitive team will be debuting their solos, duets and trios on Sunday March 3rd, 2024 at 2pm. Tickets will be available for sale at artscourt.ca, please feel free to bring your dancer and come support our competitive team!
March Break:
There will be NO CLASSES running from Monday March 11th – Sunday March 17th. All classes and rehearsals will resume on Monday March 18th, 2024.
March Break Competition Rehearsals:
There will be competitive rehearsals for dancers who have solos/duets/trios over the March Break, on Monday March 11th and Wednesday March 13th 2024. A detailed schedule will follow. These rehearsals are OPTIONAL, simply extra practice for those who are in town.
SHINE DANCE COMPETITION: Thursday March 21st – Sunday March 24th:
Wish our competitive team luck as they head off to our first competition of the season! If you are interested in coming to support the VPD team, the schedule and location can be found at shinedance.com.
Easter Weekend:
Happy Easter! There will be NO classes or rehearsals from Friday March 29th to Monday April 1st. All classes and rehearsals will resume on Tuesday April 2nd 2024.
