Vanessa Plettell – ARAD, ADAPT

Vanessa Plettell Chevrier is a classically trained ballet dancer with the Royal Academy of Dance. Raised in Lethbridge Alberta, she was a scholarship student for five years at the Banff School of Fine Arts Summer School and in New York City with Alvin Ailey and Joffrey Ballet. Her passion for teaching and choreography has well prepared her students for exams, competitions and performances. She holds her Major Advanced Ballet Dance Certificate and Teaching Certificate and she is a Registered Member with the Royal Academy of Dance (A.R.A.D.).


Kim – ADAPT Jazz and Acro

Kim studied dance for 16 years, 4 years at Ann Holtz and 12 years at Denise Smith Studio. She then danced with Le Jazz Hot Dance Company for 7 years. She was a gymnast for 14 years and then a Beam and Floor choreographer for Springfield College M.A. Women’s Gymnastics Team. She has been teaching dance and gymnastics in the Ottawa area since she was 14 years old. Kim continues to teach dance and gymnastics to stay healthy and happy.


Cassandra Bigras – ADAPT Tap and Jazz

Casandra began her love of dance at the age of four at Extravadance Academy in Rockland, Ontario. During her training and competing, she passed her ADAPT Advanced Tap certification, trained up to ADAPT Intermediate 3 Jazz, trained up to RAD Pre-Advance/Advance 1;  while also performing and competing in Contemporary and Lyrical. Casandra has recently completed her first year of TTS with ADAPT and is currently in the progress of doing her first year of AcroDance, with the hopes to graduate with both teaching certificates. She is also currently enrolled at the University of Ottawa with a Honours BSocSc. with spec. in Conflict Studies and Human Rights with Minor in Social Sciences of Health. With her accomplishments in tap and jazz dancing, Casandra is excited to bring her love and passion for dance to all of her present and future students.


Allie Fournier – ADAPT Tap and Ballet

Allie discovered her love of dance at the age of two when she participated in her first ballet class.  Allie continued dancing and specialized in tap at age three. Allie has been training with the Vanessa Plettell Dance family since the age of eight in various styles including tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary and musical theatre.
Allie has been selected for four tap solos, a contemporary solo and a tap duet in the past. She has been assisting in classes for the past three years and began teaching in March 2019. Allie was successful in her RAD Intermediate Ballet Examination, her ADAPT Pre Intermediate 1 Tap Examination and is currently working towards her RAD Advanced 1 Ballet Examination and her ADAPT Pre Intermediate 3 Tap Examination. 
Allie puts her heart & soul into her teaching and is beyond excited to share her passion for dance with her students.  She hopes to inspire and challenge them with original choreography while bringing exciting dance numbers to the stage. 


Caitlin McKay – Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop

Caitlin has been a dedicated member of the Vanessa Plettell Dance family for 16 years. She has had many starring roles in the end of the year recitals, such as the Doll in our 2013 performance “Coppelia”, Glenda the Good Witch in 2014 “Simply the Best”, the Selfish Step Sister in “Cinderella” in 2015 and LooLoo the girlfriend in 2016 “Esmeralda”. This year she is starring as “Maleficent”. She is a hard working patron as she has volunteered for the school for 8 years and this will be her 5th year teaching at Summer Camp. We are more than delighted to have Caitlin, a beautiful and hardworking dancer and teacher as part of our team!
